However, if birth photographers do not know how to handle themselves professionally in a medical setting, as well as on social media, their ability to tell these stories as authentically as they are right now could be compromised. In this class, Neely will teach you how to build relationships not only with your clients, but with the hospital staff as well, from the nurses, to the doctors and midwives. You will also learn how to overcome harsh light, and utilize flash effectively and professionally. Given the intimate nature of birth photography, understanding your client's level of comfort is crucial when composing and curating what images are shared publicly. The class will cover what to and not to shoot, what to do in emergencies, and where to stand in the OR. The course will also cover how to find your voice as a birth photographer.
