Couples In Color: Photographing The Bright, Beautiful and Bold

Make your images stand out with Mecca Gamble on this vibrant and colorful outdoor shoot in and around Midtown Atlanta. This class focuses on shooting an African American couple. She will cover everything from shooting for brown skin tones, shooting during mid-day, how to photograph fun and energetic couples portraits, to how to plan and style your session. Mecca will be there to assist and answer questions while you photograph a gorgeously styled couple in their cocktail finest. For this class, you should have a basic understanding of shooting in Manual Mode. Please bring a prime lens if available.

Learning Objectives:

- Learn how to plan a shoot in the city
- Learn how to help style your couple for their engagement or anniversary session
- Learn how to expose for brown skin tones
- Learn how to communicate with your couples during the session
- Learn go-to poses that get great natural reactions every time

A deep dive into the world's most iconic images, why they are so powerful, and how we can apply the same ideas and logic to our own work to create portfolio worthy and impactful art. Emotions are so personal and are shaped by our worldview, upbringing, likes and dislikes. How we view art will always be subjective leaning on our humanity, however, there can be LOGIC to EMOTION. We can learn to understand ourselves, and those around us, and harness what we find to create images that will remain a critical part of our being or that of our clients for a lifetime. In this class, Courtney will walk you through the foundation for creating powerful images. Come expecting to be lead on an introspective journey into your WHY!

Using Places and Things To Tell The Story: Urban Streetscapes

Street signs, architecture and street art are always changing in a city and are as unique as the people who are walking through the streets.  Come along with Michelle Rick as she explores midtown Atlanta on a street photowalk. You will explore buildings, street art, things left behind and living subjects that tell a compelling story. Michelle will explain what how she navigates a city to find the best shooting locations, what she looks for with composition and how she uses light and shadow to enhance.

Learning Objectives:

- Learn how to compose imagery that is compelling
- Learn how to make pictures that are uniquely yours by choosing how you use light and shadow, reflection, color and black and white, and perspective to enhance the composition
- Learn to look for and identify interesting architecture
- Learn to step out of your comfort zone, and shake things up and try various approaches
- Learn how to work in a dynamic environment in search of subject matter
