Caroline has a love of pulling the voice out of every individual. Her joy is found in releasing the confidence in her students to make their best work. Join her as she critiques the work of you and your classmates in this small group class. You will provide a completed questionnaire as well as a three image portfolio for Caroline to critique before Click Away. This in-depth class will seek to provide each participant with valuable and confidence-boosting insights into their own unique voice and vision.

Learning Objectives:

- Learn how to know if you are suppressing your unique voice
- Learn how to analyze an image for voice cues
- Learn how to embrace your unique view of the world
- Learn how to move past the fear of what others' think

It's Personal: Cultivating Personal Projects

Are you working on or thinking of starting a personal project? Join Angela in this small group workshop as she helps you develop a project that helps you learn and grow as an artist, and gives you something meaningful to work towards. Personal projects range from taking a picture a day, photographing your relationship with your grandmother, or exploring climate issues in your area. Create something that is purposeful, interesting and personal to you, brainstorm ideas on what you have already started),or refine what you are passionate about. 

Angela will lead a discussion about types of personal projects and examples. As a group you will also brainstorm ideas to help cultivate creative ways to execute projects, and there will be a list of ways to get your mind thinking about what to explore. Attendees will learn how to maintain a project, know when it has failed, and to know when it is completed.

Learning Objectives: 

- Learn how to start a personal project
- Learn how to maintain a personal project once it is complete
- Learn how to find patterns within your work to create a personal project
- Learn ways to present your projects once they finish

Stronger Work Through Self Critique: Learning to Analyze Photos

Powerful images will rise above all other images, holding the viewer’s attention, and invoking curiosity and emotions in the viewer. Learning to analyze photographs is a valuable tool that contributes to the most growth for any photographer. With this knowledge, photographers have a better understanding of how to improve their photographic techniques, and can move forward to create stronger work through self critique. Join Ardelle Neubert to discuss class participants’ images in detail. Topics discussed will be intermediate to advanced level; experienced photographers will benefit the most from this class. You will submit three images, due February 1, 2020, for eligibility to be included in discussion. One image of each participant will be included in the discussion; image chosen by the instructor.

Learning Objectives:

- Leave why your image does or doesn't work and how to improve your photographic technique to make more impactful images
- Come away with a better understanding of the visual language
- Learn techniques to self critique your own work

Shoot right alongside Yan as she teaches you how to bring out beautiful emotions and connections from your subjects as you photograph a family. Watch as she demonstrates how she works with all kinds of lighting, decor and personalities, yet manages to get beautiful imagery. Learn to plan and direct your subjects in an organic way. Plan to bring your camera and a wide angle lens for this emotive family session.
