Stronger Work Through Self Critique: Learning to Analyze Photos FULL

Powerful images will rise above all other images, holding the viewer’s attention, and invoking curiosity and emotions in the viewer. Learning to analyze photographs is a valuable tool that contributes to the most growth for any photographer. With this knowledge, photographers have a better understanding of how to improve their photographic techniques, and can move forward to create stronger work through self critique. Join Ardelle Neubert to discuss class participants’ images in detail. Topics discussed will be intermediate to advanced level; experienced photographers will benefit the most from this class. You will submit three images, due February 1, 2020, for eligibility to be included in discussion. One image of each participant will be included in the discussion; image chosen by the instructor.

Learning Objectives:

- Leave why your image does or doesn't work and how to improve your photographic technique to make more impactful images
- Come away with a better understanding of the visual language
- Learn techniques to self critique your own work
